LUCIDBLOOM return with their cinematic new single ‘Fever Dream’

Sydney's LUCIDBLOOM enter the surreal, weightless spaces of grief on ‘Fever Dream’, a cinematic dream-pop single about losing someone you love and finding traces of them everywhere.
The latest single from the band's forthcoming sophomore EP, ‘Fever Dream’ invites you into the vivid, captivating and magical world of LUCIDBLOOM, expanding their lush, atmospheric sound into something more dynamic, expansive and otherworldly.
Written and produced entirely by LUCIDBLOOM, ‘Fever Dream’ explores the surreal nature of grief “like living in a fever dream, where nothing quite makes sense, where you’ve lost your gravity, and everything feels altered. At the same time, it’s about discovering unexpected beauty in that experience, where you find them in the universe around you - in dreams, in technicolour horizons, in pivotal moments and faces in a crowd.” explains vocalist Jennifer Noorbergen.
Continuing, “Fever Dream is about losing someone you love, and navigating the liminal spaces between darkness and light, loss and hope. And holding onto ways to connect with love that doesn’t disappear, and finds new ways to exist in ways we can’t always comprehend.”
The song was the first LUCIDBLOOM wrote together for their EP, emerging instinctively during a raw period of grief and transition. Written and arranged almost entirely in a single day in a Blue Mountains warehouse, the track was allowed to breathe before the band returned to it as the final mix on the EP, bringing the song's journey full circle.
Musically, ‘Fever Dream’ moves between crushing weight and flashes of beauty, built on expansive dynamics, atmospheric textures and lush, layered vocal arrangements. The result is a track that feels suspended between reality and memory, with choruses that lift beyond the earth and reach for something transcendent.
The song's visual world was developed in collaboration with artist Michaela Parry, blending nostalgic handheld film with surrealist collage elements. Moving between light and darkness, memory and dreams, the visuals mirror the track's exploration of grief as something both deeply grounding and beautifully transcendent.
Formed by sisters Jennifer Noorbergen (vocals) and Katrina Noorbergen (vocals/bass), alongside Astrid Holz (drums) and Tom Haeusler (guitar), LUCIDBLOOM are an emerging force in Sydney's alternative scene. Drawing on influences including Warpaint, Radiohead, dream-pop and shoegaze, the band create surging, immersive soundscapes that balance raw emotional intensity with shimmering, cinematic textures.
With all four members bringing over a decade of experience writing, producing and performing in Australia and internationally, LUCIDBLOOM are now entering their next era, with ‘Fever Dream’ offering the latest glimpse into the expansive world of their forthcoming EP.
