Perth indie/country singer-songwriter Frederick James returns with his third single, Let Me Give You A Good Day (out June 26), a deeply personal offering about care, resilience, and the quiet desperation of wanting to make things better for the people you love.

Since 2025, Frederick James has fully immersed himself in music, performing countless open mic sets - that have served as a testing ground for new material and a way to live inside the songs as they evolved in real time, and writing prolifically.

Much of his process has been documented publicly through Instagram, where he shares works-in-progress, performances and fragments of songs as they emerge. Rather than presenting polished final statements, these posts offer an unfiltered look into the discipline and vulnerability of continuing to create every day.

Written during one of the most difficult periods of his life, Let Me Give You A Good Day carries the weight of exhaustion, tenderness and hope in equal measure. At its centre is a simple phrase directed toward his daughter, an attempt to offer comfort amidst chaos, and to hold onto moments of warmth while navigating trauma and recovery within his family life.

Universal in its sentiment, Let Me Give You A Good Day speaks to anyone who has ever wanted to shield another person from pain, even briefly. It’s a song about showing up for people when life becomes unbearably heavy, and about finding meaning in gentleness when there are no easy answers.

The single was written by Frederick James, produced by Patrick Carre and Simon Groves, and mixed at Artisan Studios, pairing intimate songwriting with warm, understated production that allows the emotional core of the track to remain front and centre.

Let Me Give You A Good Day follows previous singles Walking Through Hell and Under The Clocks, offering another deeply personal chapter ahead of Frederick James’ forthcoming five-track EP. Together, the releases continue to establish Frederick as a songwriter drawn to emotional honesty, vulnerability and finding moments of hope within difficult experiences.

Frederick James' single ‘Let Me Give You A Good Day’ is out today.
