Some songs tell a story. Others arrive as answers. For Perth singer-songwriter Georgina Dacheff, songwriting has become a way of understanding the moments life doesn't always have words for. Building on the momentum of her WAM Song of the Year-nominated single ARMOUR and the release of KNOWING NO THING, a finalist for Listen Up's Song of the Year, Georgina returns with WATERS EDGE, an intimate indie-folk offering that explores what happens when healing makes room for hope.

Rather than reflecting on heartbreak, WATERS EDGE lingers in the moments between healing and hope, gently exploring what it means to open your heart again when life offers an unexpected connection.

Written, recorded and engineered by Georgina before being mixed and mastered by James Newhouse, the single showcases the warmth and sincerity that have become hallmarks of her songwriting. Guided by delicate acoustic instrumentation and an unmistakably heartfelt vocal, WATERS EDGE further establishes Georgina as one of Western Australia's quietly captivating voices in contemporary folk.

"I often write to allow the space for my heart to speak," Georgina explains. "The music always ends up giving me hope and a higher perspective. Sometimes it answers the questions before I even ask them."

That philosophy extends beyond her recorded music. Alongside supporting artists including Hein Cooper, The Dreggs, Jack Botts, Jordy Maxwell and Pete McCredie, and touring throughout Western Australia, Georgina also co-created Acoustic & Asana, an immersive experience blending live music with yin yoga that reflects her belief in music's ability to create space for reflection, connection and healing.

Speaking about the single, Georgina shares:

"WATERS EDGE is a song about opening to love. Realising that trying to deny the love within me is like trying to withhold the power of a waterfall. It represents the strength of my heart that carries me on, even when feeling worn and like I have nothing left to give, I allow the power of love to carry me on.

It’s a story of two people that meet by the waters edge: the metaphor being, meeting at the edge of love. An unexpected meeting that poses the question, ‘would you ever dare to love again?’.

To feel the fear and to open anyway. To be alive and to feel it all. To allow the power of a waterfall to flow. To be the water before it falls, no idea what is coming off that cliff edge, to be the water in the free fall, and the water that lands and continues to move. Until yet another waterfall comes to expand you even more."

To celebrate the release, Georgina will launch WATERS EDGE live at The Workers Club, Melbourne, on Thursday, 30 July. More info and tickets are available at: www.georginadacheff.com.au/
