Littlefair reimagine fan-favourite single ‘Prescription’ with a cinematic string version

Perth/Boorloo indie folk-rock six-piece Littlefair return with a lush reimagining of their beloved single Prescription, arriving June 11, 2026.

Originally released as the lead single from the band’s debut EP Forever Is a Long Time, the new version transforms ‘Prescription’ into an intimate, cinematic folk-rock ballad, featuring a live string section composed and arranged by Hannah Owens of Charlie and Goldie and recorded by Lee Buddle at Crank Studios.

Where the original leaned into the band’s driving indie-folk energy, the strings version strips things back to reveal the emotional core of the song, swelling harmonies, aching lyricism and delicate orchestration combining to create Littlefair’s most vulnerable release to date.

Since emerging onto the WA music scene, Littlefair have built a reputation as one of Boorloo’s most exciting live acts, known for their genre-hopping sets, rich four-part harmonies and joyful stage presence. Their debut EP Forever Is a Long Time earned national community radio support, including multiple top 10 placements on the AMRAP Metro Charts, RTRFM Sound Selection rotation, and airplay across Australia.

The band were awarded Best Emerging Artist at the 2024 Nannup Music Festival and have landed in the Top 20 of the West Australian Music (WAM) Song of the Year Awards three years running. In 2025, ‘Prescription’ was selected as a national finalist in the Listen Up Music Songwriting Competition, with the band travelling to Sydney to perform at the live final.

RTRFM’s Pam Boland described the group as: “Joyful indie pop/ indie rock- best friends in a band kinda energy- they’re from the movies, you know an indie rock band that you would see win a battle of the bands competition kinda energy

Fresh from festival appearances at RTRFM Winterfest, Beats in the Bay and Nannup Music Festival, Littlefair are currently in pre-production for their follow-up EP.
